Pierce County Alliance is proud to launch the opening of its new Resource Center for youth and young adults on Thursday, September 18, 2008.
The Resource Center will have open hours each week on Thursday’s from 3-5 PM for youth who are enrolled in our IL, TL, FCTC, Foster Care, RLSP and SETuP Programs. We will offer classes in areas such as: life skills, cooking, employment, education, money management, housing and much more. We will also offer drop in computer lab hours, a housing class for youth 17 and up and plenty of guest speakers from the local community. To get enrolled or referred to our programs, click on the “meet our staff” link above and contact one of our staff to get your questions answered.
Pierce County Alliance is also extremely proud to partner with the Mockingbird Society (MBS) as a host agency for The Mockingbird Network. The Network is a statewide group of local chapters led by youth and alumni of foster care with the goal of strengthening communities, encouraging civic engagement, addressing local and statewide issues affecting children and youth in foster care and developing youth leaders. To learn more or to get involved in your community, click on the “meet our staff” link above and contact your Region 5 MBS Resource Specialist. Chapter meetings will be kicking off later this year!
